Hello and Merry Christmas to you all! I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful weekend! Today I am hopping with some of my talented stamping friends from around the world who love creating with Stampin' Up!® products as much as I do! We love hopping on the second weekends of the month - Saturday or Sunday depending on where you are in the world - and love sharing lots of inspiration with you. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and relax with your favorite cuppa as you peruse the hop.
This month we are sharing projects based on our Sounds of the Season theme! I am sure that you will find lots of different interpretations and inspiration from this joyous theme for this time of year.
Today's Project
I've not been feeling my best this past week so when I saw Brian King's mother's Christmas card yesterday, I knew I had to CAS(e) it! I had another card that I was going to use, but I had trouble finding the right Christmas carol to go with it. I've been singing the First Noel ever since I saw Mary's card, so I knew I had to make a card first thing this morning whether I felt up to it or not... I hope you enjoy this version of The First Noel sung by Johnny Mathis that I grew up listening to every Christmas and still do!
Here is what I enjoyed creating today...
Shepherd's Care Inside Out Christmas Card |
Project Details
My favorite go-to cardstock colors - Night of Navy, Crumb Cake, Basic Beige and Very Vanilla - are the simple layers used for creating this joyous card.
Simple stamping with a bit of fussy cutting and die-cutting created this amazing Inside Out card.
Basic Beige was layered on Crumb Cake to create the offset panel.
The Shepherd's Care shepherd was stamped in Night of Navy ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock and lovingly fussycut.
The largest Stylish Shapes circle was used as the spotlight behind the shepherd as I imagined him feeling the love from the glow of the star as it shone above Jesus' birthplace in Bethlehem.
The star was gold heat embossed with Metallics WOW! Embossing Powder.
These are some finishing touches pictures so you can see how the circle was attached.
The inside was layered and stamped to compliment the card front. A layer of Very Vanilla cardstock was torn along the right edge and stamped with a greeting allowing plenty of room for a short note to the recipient. An additional layer was added to the left providing additional space for corresponding, if needed. The retired Very Vanilla Medium Envelope front and flap were stamped to complete the card ensemble.
More Inspiration
I hope that you have enjoyed this card and will use it yourself to create some cards for friends and family. Up next on the blog hop is Annette where you can continue along to see what she and all the others have created. I am sure you will be filled with lots of inspiration! And should you be inspired, please leave us a comment... we love to hear from you.
