There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water, or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
It's Thanksgiving here in the US so I am spending time with my family. I am so blessed to be with them this year as my dad was in the hospital this time last year. Our color inspiration challenge this month was the perfect color combination for me to create with for today...
And this is what I created...
Project Details
Every color from the challenge was used for today's project along with the photo inspiration!
The sky background was created by completely coloring my Clear Block D with the brush tip of the Balmy Blue Stampin' Write Marker and spritzing it with water using my Stampin' Spritzer. While it was drying naturally, I stamped the Winterly Tree Tops spray and bird images in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Basic White cardstock and damp watercolored them by using my Stampin' Write Markers and Fine Tip Water Painter Brush. I used the brush tips of the markers on several different clear blocks and applied water to the block to vary the colors.
The dried sky background was die-cut with the 2nd largest square from the Stylish Shapes Dies. The spray and bird were die-cut with their coordinating dies.
The Grateful Blessings sentiment was stamped in Pebbled Path ink onto Basic White cardstock and lovingly fussycut.
Two additional squares were diecut to provide a solid base for the arrangement.
A Crumb Cake cardstock layer was embossed with the Painted Leaves 3D Embossing Folder and distressed along the smooth edges with my bone folder. The upper right corner was curled and separated.
Linen Thread was doubled, wrapped around the embossed layer and tied off with a bow.
The fussycut sentiment was adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
The assembled layer was adhered to a slightly smaller Crumb Cake layer prior to adhering to the Crumb Cake card base. Pecan Pie Ribbon Adhesive Backed Dots were added as a finishing touch.
The inside was layered, embossed and stamped to compliment the card front. Plenty of room was available for corresponding to the recipient. The Basic White Medium Envelope flap was embossed to complete the card ensemble.
