Hello friends! I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful day! Today I am hopping with some of my talented stamping friends from around the world who love creating with Stampin' Up!® products as much as I do! We love hopping on the second weekends of the month - Saturday or Sunday depending on where you are in the world - and love sharing lots of inspiration with you. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and relax with your favorite cuppa as you peruse the hop.
This month we are sharing projects based on our Sketch Challenge! I am sure that you will find lots of different interpretations and inspiration from this fun sketch.
Today's Project
I love to walk along the metropark bike trail behind our property... this morning I was inspired by all the trees along the trail for today's project!
And here is what I created for today's project based on our sketch challenge!
Project Details
Fall is definitely in the air here in NW Ohio so I have enjoyed using the Winterly Tree Tops Stamp Set with a touch of autumn colors!
Cajun Craze ink was sponged onto a Pecan Pie cardstock layer.
The bird and foliage spray was stamped in Early Espresso and stamped on Basic Beige cardstock.
Coloring the images with Stampin' Blends was so relaxing! The bird was colored with Light Pecan Pie (shading), Crumb Cake (body) and Wild Wheat (beak). The foliage was colored with Dark Crumb Cake (branches), Old Olive (leaves), Light Shaded Spruce (leaves) and Poppy Parade (berries).
The coordinating dies were used to die-cut the colored images before adhering to the Basic Beige cardstock layer. The bird die was actually ran through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine a second time to create a subtle elevation of the bird.
The Country Woods 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper was used for the focal point.
A layer of Crumb Cake cardstock was debossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder. The top and bottom edges were textured with my Bone Folder. Two slightly narrower layers of Crumb Cake cardstock were adhered for subtle layering.
Linen Thread and Copper Clay Natural Tones Linen Thread were wrapped around the layers together and tied off with a bow.
The sentiments were stamped in Early Espresso ink on Crumb Cake cardstock, fussy cut and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Natural Beige Earth Tone Shimmer Gems were added as a finishing touch.
The inside was layered, stamped and colored to compliment the card front. The Basic White Medium Envelope flap was embossed to complete the card ensemble.
More Inspiration
I hope that you have enjoyed this sketch and will use it yourself to create some cards for friends and family. Up next on the blog hop is Aurélie where you can continue along to see what she and all the others have created. I am sure you will be filled with lots of inspiration! And should you be inspired, please leave us a comment... we love to hear from you.
