Happy Thursday, y'all! I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful day! Today I am hopping with the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop as we share inspiration for this month's Color Inspiration Challenge! There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water, or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
This month's Color Inspiration Challenge encouraged me to finally use a stamp set that I had to have last from the Annual Catalog that is now an Online Exclusive stamp set... Blueberry Bunches! I so love blueberries and so does my family especially Michigan blueberries! We used to go hand-pick them when our son was younger... so lots of memories that definitely need to be scrapbooked from those excursions! **wink**
Here is this month's color challenge...
And here is today's project that I was inspired to create using four of the colors from the challenge...
Project Details
The challenge colors really spoke to me this month along with the basket and the grass. Who doesn't love a picnic, right?!?
I have been in the mood this week to watercolor so the blueberries were the perfect go to stamp for me... all of the blueberry images were stamped with Jet Black StazOn Ink onto a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. With my Fine Tip Water Painter and a glass of water (for rinsing the brush tip between colors), I was ready to have some much needed coloring time.
The bush limb was colored with Pecan Pie. The leaves were watercolored with Granny Apple Green as the base color as layers of Garden Green ink were added gradually. The blueberries were watercolored with Granny Apple Green and Blueberry Bushel inks representing the different stages of ripening of these delicious berries. Once the images were dry to touch (not long as those of you who follow me know I don't get overly carried away with soaking my backgrounds), I fussy-cut the images that I wanted to focus on. Yes, I selected the ones that turned out the best to me.... **wink**
Inspired by the picnic basket, the largest Stylish Shapes circle was die-cut from Pecan Pie Cardstock and embossed with the Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder. A second die-cut was made from Basic White Cardstock.
The sentiment was white heat embossed on Garden Green Cardstock and fussycut choosing to omit "birthday" from my card so this card could be used for any occasion.
Splatters were added by gently flicking the brush tip of my Dark Blueberry Bushel Stampin' Blends Marker in the cap.
The layers were all adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
The inside was layered and embossed to compliment the card front. The Basic White Medium Envelope flap was embossed to complete the card ensemble.
