Hello friends! I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful day! Today I am hopping with some of my talented stamping friends from around the world who love creating with Stampin' Up!® products as much as I do! We love hopping on the second weekends of the month - Saturday or Sunday depending on where you are in the world - and love sharing lots of inspiration with you. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and relax with your favorite cuppa as you peruse the hop.
This month we are sharing projects based on our three Christmas in July Color Challenges! I am sure that you will find lots of different interpretations and inspiration from these color combinations.
I chose to play with this Color Challenge!
Today's Project
Going back down memory lane... today's project is inspired by one of my favorite decorations at my childhood church on the alter stairs... white and pink poinsettia in honor/memory of loved ones stacked like a Christmas tree!
The closest thing that I had to a poinsettia in my current stamp stash is the plant in the Attention Shoppers stamp set...
Project Details
The Attention Shoppers plant was stamped with VersaMark ink onto Crumb Cake Cardstock approximately 18-21 times, heat embossed with clear embossing powder, and die-cut with the coordinating die. The leaves and stripe on the pot were colored with the Basic White Watercolor Pencil.
The leaves were colored with Garden Green ink and a Blender Pen then set aside.
A Basic White Cardstock layer was embossed with the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder. A 3-1/2" width section of the debossed side was colored with the Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Markers - petals with Light Crumb Cake, dots with Dark Crumb Cake. A 2" strip was adhered to a Basic White Cardstock layer for the card front. A 1" strip was adhered to a second Basic White Cardstock layer for the inside of the card.
The second smallest Everyday Details rectangle was die-cut from scrap Basic White paper. The die-cut plants were layered from the top down to resemble a Christmas tree. The bottom row was lined up along the bottom of the rectangle. The pot stripes were colored with the Real Red Watercolor Pencil then smoothed out across all the pots with a Blender Pen.
Linen Thread was wrapped around the pots and tied off with a bow.
The assembled tree was adhered to the Basic White assembled card layer.
The Greetings of the Season sentiments were white heat embossed on Crumb Cake. An extended Stylish Shapes banner die-cut was created around the Christmas sentiment, The ends were scored to make it elevate. The Merry sentiment was snipped and adhered with a strip cut from the Stampin' Dimensionals.
Three Iridescent Pearls were colored with the bullet tip of my Dark Real Red Stampin' Blends Marker. Splatters were added with the brush tips of my Dark and Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Markers.
The inside was layered and stamped to compliment the card front. The Greetings of the Season sentiment was stamped with Crumb Cake ink. The Basic White Medium Envelope flap was embossed to complete the card ensemble.
More Inspiration
I hope that you have enjoyed this sketch and will use it yourself to create some cards for friends and family. Up next on the blog hop is Aurélie where you can continue along to see what she and all the others have created. I am sure you will be filled with lots of inspiration! And should you be inspired, please leave us a comment... we love to hear from you.
