Cheerful Daisies in Crumb Cake for the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Insta Hop

Hello friends!  I hope you are doing well on this fabulous first Friday of July!  Today I am hopping with some Crafty Collaborators along the Monochromatic Insta Hop over on Instagram.  Please be sure to hop over there to see all the inspirations using this week's color - Crumb Cake!

Today's Project

I absolutely love our Crumb Cake cardstock!  It is by far my most used color used year round.  The cardstock reminds me of the paper grocery bags that we get each week.  This card is definitely for those who love to make a special card every once in awhile where you put a lot of love in every element, every layer of the card.  It's not on for those who want to make a card in a hurry... but it can be made quickly with all the right tools!

All the layers for the daisies were die cut from Basic White cardstock with the Cheerful Daisies Dies.  Each center of the second layer (the ones that are all attached and you need to snip to separate) was colored with a Small Blending Brush and Crumb Cake ink.  Don't worry if any of the ink gets on the petals as the top detailed layer will help conceal plus it can add some depth.

The three leaves part of the original large layer were colored snipped off.  The veined detailing was carefully removed and colored with the Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Marker.  The three leaves were colored with the Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Marker.  Then the detailing was carefully reinserted.

Two sprigs and two leaves were die cut from Basic White cardstock.  The sprigs were colored with the brush tip of a Light Crumb Stampin' Blends Marker.  The two leaves were colored with both Blends to create shading and depth.

The Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder created the backdrop to the daisies.  The debossed side of the Basic White Cardstock layer was colored with the Stampin' Blends... creating a repetitive pattern of coloring three rows, skip one row and color three rows... coloring the petals with Light Crumb Cake and the dots with Dark Crumb Cake.  I preferred using the Brush Tip for this coloring technique.

The Crumb Cake background is the Faux Suede Technique - wadding up a piece of cardstock until it feels like a soft ball.  Once unwadded, separate a corner in two and carefully pull apart.  Flatten the pieces by running them through the Cut & Emboss Machine under an embossing folder.

The colored embossed layer was trimmed and adhered to the soft Crumb Cake layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Linen Thread was doubled and wrapped around the layers tying if off with a bow.  The daisies and foliage were arranged and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I chose to double back the assembled layers by adhering two additional smaller Crumb Cake layers to give it support and a soft floating feel before adhering it to the Crumb Cake card base.

The Country Birdhouse sentiment was white heat embossed and trimmed with Paper Snips.

Iridescent Pearls were colored with the bullet tip of the Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Marker for a finishing touch.

The inside was layered and colored to compliment the card front allowing room for corresponding to the recipient.   The Basic White Medium Envelope flap was embossed and colored to complete the card ensemble.
