Today's Project

I absolutely love our natural gray color... Gray Granite!  It is my most used gray color used for its warmth year round.  This card is definitely another one of those cards for someone special due to the thought, creativity and love poured into making it.  Thankfully I had someone in mind when I made this so it will be mailed soon!

With Gray Granite having such warm undertones, I chose to play with it on Basic Beige.

Inspired by the concrete pavers outside the Buehner Center at our local Oak Openings Preserve Metropark, the Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder was perfect to create some paper pavers with leaf imprints.  The pavers at the park have imprints of all the critters and other nature items that left imprints during the curing process.

The debossed side of the Basic Beige cardstock layer was blended with Gray Granite ink and a Small Blending Brush.  The layer was trimmed to look like parts of pavers along a walkway.  The layers adhered to slightly smaller sizes of Basic Beige.  The edges were roughened with a Bone Folder prior to adhering with Multipurpose Liquid Glue onto the Basic Beige card layer.

The maple shaped leaf was stamped with Gray Granite ink on Basic Beige cardstock.  The individual sections were randomly colored with the Gray Granite Stampin' Blends Markers.  The brush tip of the Light Gray Granite Blends Marker was used to add color around the leaf after it was die-cut.

Additional leaves and sprigs were die-cut with Gray Granite and Basic White cardstock.  The white die-cuts were colored with the Stampin' Blends Markers.

The sentiment was stamped in Gray Granite ink onto a coordinating Basic Beige die-cut label.

Gray Granite Baker's Twine was looped, tucked and cut behind the layered collage.  The arrangement was adhered to the paper pavers with Mini Glue Dots, Liquid Glue and Stampin' Dimensionals.

Splatters from the brush tips of the Blends Markers were added after the card front was completely assembled.

The inside was layered and colored to compliment the card front allowing room for corresponding to the recipient.  The maple leaf was diecut and embossed simultaneously.  Afterwards, it was pressed into the Gray Granite ink pad and lightly colored including along the edge with the Light Gray Granite Stampin' Blends Marker.  A Basic White Medium Envelope front and flap will be embossed and stamped to complete the card ensemble before it is mailed.
