Creating my own graphic of the sketch was a fun squirrel moment for me.  This sketch is the last one of the grouping of 22 amazing sketches.  And this is what it inspired me to create.

Creating this card was a challenge... as it started with an idea that ended up being changed along the way.  I am sure that you may have had a similar experience yourself.  So just continue creating and step away for a bit and it will all come together.

Project Details...

The card began with the Lost Lagoon card base and the lovely Lost Lagoon watercolored background from the Thoughtful Journey 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper.

The main focus of the sketch image for my card was die-cut from Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper using the Nested Essentials Dies.

Stampin Up Thoughtful Journey Note with inspiration DSP | Nature's INKspirations by Angie McKenzie

Inspired by the coordinating Thoughtful Journey DSP, the Thoughtful Wishes rubber stamp image was colored with the brush tips of my Petunia Pop and Mossy Meadow Stampin' Write Markers.  The colored image was then stamped onto a water spritzed die-cut.  Once dry, the rubber stamp image was recolored, breathed on (aka the Huffing Technique) and stamped over the watercolor image.

The watercolored background was colored with Peach Pie ink leaving a halo around the images to keep the colors true to themselves.

White heat embossing this new upcoming Online Exclusive Changing Leaves sentiment on a Stylish Shapes banner is the reason the DSP was not used.  I felt that there was not enough contrast for the overall design.  Do you ever have those moments while you're creating?

So after a much needed break, I came back and pulled out a this new upcoming Online Exclusive Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder.  Using the debossed side of the Basic White cardstock was the perfect mix to not take away from the watercolor focal points.

The 2024-2026 In Color™ Shimmer Gems were added as a finishing touch.

Stampin Up Thoughtful Journey Note - an inside look | Nature's INKspirations by Angie McKenzie

The inside was simply layered and stamped to compliment the card front leaving plenty of room to correspond to the recipient.  The Basic White Medium Envelope front and flap were also stamped to complete the card ensemble.
