Happy Thursday, y'all! I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful day! There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water, or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
We are currently nearing the end of a fabulous sale on Bundles so I could not resist showcasing a favorite bundle of mine from our Online Exclusives, Simply Zinnia. If you love this bundle as much as I do and do not have it, yet, you have until Sunday to purchase it with the additional savings on top the bundled savings.
Here is our sketch challenge for the month...
...and this is what I was inspired to create based on projects I created during my time on the Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen Design Team!
Project Details
Once in awhile, we need to be inspired by projects we have previously made and use our current stash of products. These Dirty Dozen cards (you may click here and here if you are a Dirty Dozen Fan Club member) were actually the inspiration for this month's Sketch 105... so I hope that it will further inspire you, too!
A card front panel was stamped repeatedly with the large zinnia image and Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Three masks were created using the coordinating Die and our Masking Paper to create the garden effect of the zinnias. Inspired by a picture I found thanks to my friend, Google, the zinnias were colored with Poppy Parade, Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends Markers.
Once colored, a 3/4" strip was trimmed off the bottom while the remaining piece was cut in half along the left to right diagonal.
The cut pieces were adhered to same size embossed and debossed panels with Foam Adhesive sheets. the panel was trimmed at the bo
The stamped Layering Leaves sentiment was fussy cut for one card, while the white embossed sentiment was fussy cut for the other.
Other differences were Linen Thread vs White Baker's Twine along with Crumb Cake vs Granny Apple Green cardbases.
The finishing touch for both cards was the addition of three Blooming Pearls.
The inside of the cards were layered, stamped and colored to compliment the card fronts while allowing plenty of room for correspondence to the recipients. The Basic White Medium Envelope flaps were embossed to complete the card ensemble.
