Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop Banner

Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop!  We are glad you have joined us and look forward to spending time with you as we share inspiration with you from our Adventures of Benji Challenge.  So sit back and enjoy your favorite cuppa as you enjoy your trip Around the World on Wednesday!

Today's Project

Two years ago, I promised my Shih Tzu, Benji, that I would take him on a trip around the world with me.  And like any other mom, you know I can't break a promise.  Benji gets to travel around the world with us this month along the blog hop!  But before he starts off on his way, he had do what he does best for me... and that is help find inspiration along our walks.

Here is a better picture of what he was showing me:

If you look close enough, you might notice the bee he was lucky enough to miss.

And here is what Benji inspired me to create...

Project Details

The July Online Exclusive Changing Leaves Bundle is the focus of the design.  The leaves were stamped with Lemon Lime Twist ink on Basic White Cardstock.

Each leaf was colored by dotting a Light Mossy Meadow and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends Markers to create the Garden Green leaves.  A gentle swipe of the Dark Granny Apple Blend was added for a more realistic look with shading.

The diecut leaves were watercolored by dabbing a damp Water Painter with the watered ink over the textured surface (thanks to the amazing Changing Leaves Hybrid Embossing Folder).

Garden Green ink was sponged lightly over the colored leaves to create a bush effect.

The Lemon Lime Green leaves were adhered over the stamped leaves with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Splatters of the Lemon Lime Green watered ink were added for a special touch.

The white heat embossed sentiment was adhered with a strip trimmed from my Stampin' Dimensionals.

The Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins were added as a finishing touch.

The inside was layered and stamped to compliment the card front.  The 1-1/2" strip was stamped and blended along with the card front panel.

The sentiments were selected with Benji in mind thanking him for the inspiration though the card is perfect for so many people in my life.  Needless to say, this card will be sent to a special friend in the mail!

The Basic White Medium Envelope front and flap was stamped to complete the card ensemble.
