Hello friends! Welcome to the Stamper's Dozen Blog Hop! This month we are creating all things masculine. There are several of us hopping this evening - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your time with us as we share our handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
Masculine cards are something that I need to make more of... I usually just make them when I need them. Are you that way? Inspired by a photo taken by a friend while in Mexico recently reminded me of a similar view I had in a cavern several years ago. The inspiration of looking up at the sky from such a vantage point inspired me to create this masculine card perfect for any occasion...
Project Details
Using a Small Blending Brush, Early Espresso ink was blended on a Pecan Pie cardstock layer. The blended layer was diecut with the smallest "circle" from the Encircled in Nature Dies then embossed with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. An Encircled in Nature "circle" frame (reminds me of a branch) was die-cut from Pecan Pie cardstock and blended slightly with Early Espresso ink.
Using the opening as a guide, the sky was created by blending sections of Thick Basic White cardstock with Balmy Blue ink. The center was lightly watercolor smooshed using my Clear Block A (retired), Gray Granite Stampin' Write Marker and Stampin' Spritzer filled with water.
Loveliest Trees Dies and Thoughtful Wishes Dies were used to create the elements viewed in the opening. My Light Shaded Spruce Stampin' Blends Marker was used to color the leaves on the tree branch.
The Beside Me sentiment was stamped with Early Espresso ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock then trimmed and torn before being wrapped and adhered to the back of the Thick Basic White cardstock panel.
The inside of the card was layered to compliment the card front. The Pecan Pie cardstock layer was blended with Early Espresso ink. The Beside Me sentiment was completed with a Simply Said sentiment creating the perfect for any occasion sentiment.
