Stampin' Up! Spotlight on Nature friend card - Sneak Peek | Nature's INKspirations by Angie McKenzie

New at SU! Blog Hop Banner - 2023

Hello and welcome to my blog!  Today I am hopping with the New at SU! Blog Hop!  We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world who are full of creative paper crafting ideas to share with you and get you crafting!  Today we each are showcasing our team members.

Today's project is all about CAS(e)ing!  And I am honored to CAS(e) our newest member, Sharon Dalton of Shabaz Studio - Creative Me68 from Queensland, Australia!

C(opy) A(nd) S(electively) (E)dit is how I love interpreting this way of creating! You can copy everything or you can totally go rogue with your selections.

Here is Sharon's lovely card...

Sharon's card that inspired my project today! | Nature's INKspirations by Angie McKenzie

Selecting this card was so fun as it includes a lot of vintage techniques that I so love to use for my own creations!  And here is what I was inspired to create...

Selecting the same techniques... I added a few of my own.  Tone on tone stamping, paper wadding, distressing and die-cutting were musts!  I added coloring with Blends, dry embossing, hand-stitching, fussy-cutting and double bows!

Not only did I play with the upcoming Spotlight on Nature Bundle, I played with three of the new colors - Pretty in Pink, Petunia Pop and Basic Beige - all from the upcoming 2024-2025 Annual Catalog.  I attended OnStage in Houston last month and played with these colors and stamp set first hand so it was fun getting to play with them in my own craft space!

The Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder was inked with Basic Beige before embossing onto Pretty in Pink Cardstock.   The leaf image was stamped in Basic Beige ink and stamped randomly on a Basic Beige Cardstock layer before it was wadded into a tight ball and flattened by running it through the Cut and Emboss Machine.  The Basic Beige layer edges were further roughened with my finger nail... you may choose to use a bone folder or scissors to accomplish this.  It was adhered to a slightly smaller Basic Beige layer after the trimmed Basic Beige 3/8" Bordered Ribbon was adhered to the back with Tear & Tape Adhesive.  The flowers and fussy-cut butterfly were colored with my Light Petunia Pop and Light Pretty in Pink Stampin' Blends Markers.  The leaves were colored with my Light Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends Marker.  Linen Thread was threaded through the larger openings of the stamped and colored Very Vanilla die-cut then adhered to the larger Very Vanilla die-cut with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The assembled die-cuts was adhered to the distressed layers with Adhesive Sheet Foam and Stampin' Dimensionals.  The trimmed Basic Beige Border Ribbon bow was secured with the Linen Thread bow and a Mini Glue Dot.  The fussy-cut butterfly was bent along the body to make the wings flutter while glue was adhered to the body to adhered to the circles.  The sentiment was stamped and fussy-cut.  2024-2026 In Color™ Shimmer Gems were added as a finishing touch.

I continued with the embossing, tone-on-tone stamping, grunging and coloring on the inside to compliment the card front.  The Very Vanilla Medium Envelope (retiring soon!) front and flap was stamped to complete the card ensemble.
