Darling Details for the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop - February 2024 | Color Challenge

Today's Project

Do you ever have one of those days when you intend to make a card for one reason, but something happens that makes you tweak it a bit for another reason?  Well, today was one of those days!  This card was originally intended to be a card for my parents who are celebrating their "first date" anniversary today!!!  But due to something that I received from a friend today, I knew she needed this card more than my dear parents...

Here is the color challenge that inspired today's project.

Project Details

The Darling Details Bundle was much loved when I first saw it in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog last Spring!  With the release of the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog on the horizon, I knew I needed to play with it some.  The anchor of the card is my favorite die from the bundle... I call it the ribbon holder.  **swoon**

The Parakeet Party Metallic Woven Ribbon was woven through the Parakeet Party die-cut and fiddled with until it filled the openings all the across.  The ribbon holder was centered across the front to make folding along the edges easy for adhering to the back of the Basic White Cardstock layer with Tear & Tape Adhesive.  Flowers and foliage were stamped and off-stamped with each of the colors from the color challenge... and lovingly die-cut as I wished I had a duplicate set of the dies.  The die-cuts were arranged and tucked around the ribbon holder with the center Bubble Bath floral and leaves being adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.  The Meadow Dies butterfly was die-cut from Vellum Cardstock.  The Parakeet Party Matte Decorative Dots were added for the butterfly body.  The sentiment was stamped with Crumb Cake ink and fussycut.

The inside was layered and stamped to compliment the card front.  The Crumb Cake sentiment was perfect for this special friend leaving plenty of room for a heartfelt message to her.  The Basic White Medium Envelope front and flap were stamped to complete the card ensemble.
