New at SU - December 2023 | Handcrafted Elements - Simple Elegance

 

Hello and welcome to my blog!  Today I am hopping with the New at SU! Blog Hop!  We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world who are full of creative paper crafting ideas to share with you and get you crafting!  Today we are showcasing products as we limit ourselves to using only Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.

Today's project is all about the colors!  These colors are so my style... and something that I love to use quite a lot with a small touch of color.  So today I chose the Handcrafted Elements Dies from page 21 of the September-December 2023 Mini Catalog to get me to think creatively with just these two amazing often overlooked colors.  

And this is what I created using this amazing color combination...

I couldn't resist making three cards as I actually needed to add them to my stash!  A Christmas card and thank you cards for customer orders from last week.

Project Details... The botanical dies were the first ones I had to play with!  Crumb Cake was used for the thicker layer while Very Vanilla was used for the intricate layer.  The negative images of the die-cuts were used as layers for the card design to create the floating effect of the botanical die cuts while assisting with protection for mailing the card.

The Biggest Wish sentiment was fussycut and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Stampin' Dimensionals under the double threaded Linen Thread bow.

Using the brush tip of my Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker, it was flicked with the cap a few tips to create the soft splatters.

The inside was reverse layered creating a writeable layer for corresponding to my customer.  A few more splatters were added to compliment the card front.  The Very Vanilla Medium Envelope front was stamped to complete the card ensemble.

The ornament die was a must as it can make so many beautiful cards that can be easily used for multiples.  The intricate curves of the die-cut were snipped allowing room for the bold Joy to You sentiment.  A simple Linen Thread bow was adhered.  I thought I was done until I took pictures and realized a touch of bling would be fabulous on the ornament.  So another wonderful use for Wink of Stella all over the ornament.

The inside was layered and stamped with the same layers.  The Wishes All Around sentiment, which has been my favorite for this year, was used for the inside.  The Very Vanilla Medium Envelope front and flap were stamped to complete the card ensemble.

The last card was designed to look like the back of a catalog mailing envelope...  you know the brown envelopes that you want to place a label over the brad closing so it doesn't get broken in the mail or your handling of it?!?  I hope you've been able to mentally picture one!  **SMILE**

The flap was created from a quarter sheet of cardstock and eyeballing where you want the point.  Once you are happy with the placement.  Trim it to fit.  The detailed Crumb Cake die-cut was adhered to the detailed Very Vanilla die-cut with Multipurpose Liquid Glue using a sponge dauber as the applicator.  The sentiment was fussycut and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The Very Vanilla Thick cardbase was left blank inside allowing plenty of room for a note to my customer.  The Very Vanilla Medium Envelope was stamped to complete the card ensemble.
