Today's Project
Watercolor Swooshing is one of my favorite background techniques. It is fun to get inky with this technique so I usually try to contain the mess with a clear block. These are the cards I created from one created background!

Project Details
I started the fun by white heat embossing a sheet of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. Once it was cool, the fun began by spritzing the paper with water. The Clear Block D was tapped on the Lost Lagoon ink pad and smooshed all around the spritzed watercolor paper.

While the background was drying, it was time to create the other elements of the card. The Perennial Postage die was extended a few notches to fit the adorable image from the Festive & Fun stamp set.

The Festive & Fun image was colored with a variety of Stampin' Blends to create a natural look to compliment the background.

The extended postage stamp was embossed with the "canceled postmark" die in the upper left corner. The Crumb Cake card base was randomly stamped with the medium detailed snowflake using VersaMark ink. The More Wishes sentiments were stamped with Pretty Peacock ink and fussy cut.
The watercolored background paper was cut in half and adhered to a Crumb Cake cardstock layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Linen Thread was double-wrapped around the layers and tied off with a bow. The backing was double layered with cardstock to create a subtle elevation. The postage stamp and sentiments were adhered over the Linen Thread with Stampin' Dimensionals and a tad of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The inside of the card was layered and stamped to compliment the card front. The snowflake image was generational stamped with Lost Lagoon ink. The Wishes All Around sentiment was stamped with Pretty Peacock ink. The Basic White Medium Envelope front and flap were stamped to complete the card ensemble.

ReplyDeleteWhat a super background for the rhino and his friends! I like that the colour is subtle yet textured. It highlights the snowflakes but doesn't dominate the main image. Very cleverly done!
