Hello friends!  I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful day!  Today I am hopping with some of my talented stamping friends from around the world who love creating with Stampin' Up!® products as much as I do!  We love hopping on the second weekends of the month - Saturday or Sunday depending on where you are in the world - and love sharing lots of inspiration with you.  There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and relax with your favorite cuppa as you peruse the hop.

This month we are sharing projects based on our Sketch Challenge!  I am sure that you will find lots of different interpretations and inspiration from this fun sketch.

Today's Project

We have such an inspirational sketch this month that I couldn't resist making some Christmas cards.  I took the elements moved them around just a bit, but you should definitely see the sketch in my cards.

Project Details

The Shining Brightly 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper is what I chose for the stripes.  This gorgeous paper has three designs in Night of Navy and Very Vanilla.  The star background was perfect to highlight the focal point of the nativity with the Night Divine Dies.

This year I have been reading The Bible Recap with Tara-Leigh Cobble every day... it has been such a joy and just recently I read something that I had not recalled during all of my partial readings of scripture.  The wisemen did not find Jesus until he was approximately two years old, so I chose to use my paper snips to accurately depict what that blessed night portrayed more realistically.  I also learned that the location of where the manger was would have also been more like that of a basement level... another reason I chose to use my paper snips.

The Night Divine sentiment was stamped with Night of Navy ink creating the glorious background for the scene.  The donkey and rafters were triple layered while the holy family were one layered.  The Christmas Classics sentiment was gold heat embossed and fussy cut.

The insides were layered and stamped to compliment the card fronts.  The Wishes All Around sentiment was complimented by remnants from the die-cutting.  The Very Vanilla Medium Envelope fronts and flaps were stamped to complete the card ensembles.

More Inspiration

I hope that you have enjoyed this sketch and will use it yourself to create some cards for friends and family.  Up next on the blog hop is Leonie where you can continue along to see what she and all the others have created.  I am sure you will be filled with lots of inspiration!  And should you be inspired, please leave us a comment... we love to hear from you.

  1. I'm so glad to see that you used the nativity frame for your elegant card. I thought that was really the perfect shape and you accented it so beautifully. I'm such a fan of letting elements drop off the edge and I love how the cut off part appears again in the inside of the card. Brilliant!

  6. Very nice card Angie! I love the reminder of the nativity scene so much. In my native region, Provence, nativity scenes are THE symbol of Christmas par excellence and this scene is so representative! Thank you for this lovely sharing, full of positive thoughts for you and your family!
