Today's Project
I love walking on the metropark bike trail behind our property with our dog, Benji. One day last week, I was able to capture the inspiration for today's project minus the monarch that flew along with us for about a quarter of a mile. The monarch was so beautiful and it kept landing on these lovely purple Asters that were scattered in the greenery along the trail.
I couldn't help but smile that the monarch was enjoying his time with us. He would flit and flutter along crossing in front of us several times as he moved from one side of the trail to the other. Landing ever so gently on the yellow centers of the Asters for a millisecond and then fluttering away.
And here is the card that was inspired by this amazing walk.
Project Details
The wreath from the Natural Prints Dies is the backdrop for the diecut Cheerful Daisies. The daisy centers were colored with the bullet tip of the Light Wild Wheat Stampin' Blend and covered with Masking Paper. The daisy rays were blended with Gorgeous Grape ink using a Clear Block and a Small Blending Brush.
The Enchanted Butterfly image was stamped with StazOn ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock. The image was watercolored with a damp Fine Tip Water Painter using Pumpkin Pie ink and a Clear Block. The Pumpkin Pie ink was applied multiple times to enhance certain sections of the wings. The dry watercolored butterfly was fussy cut with Paper Snip Scissors.
The Nature's Prints sentiment was inked with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and die-cut with the Cheerful Daisies label die. The sentiment was layered up with two additional die-cuts for subtle dimension.
The gold adhesive backed sequins were added as a finishing touch perfect for mailing.
The inside of the card was layered and stamped to compliment the cardfront. The soft color applied to the flowers was applied with the Small Blending Brush. The Basic White Medium Envelope front and flap were stamped and colored to complete the card ensemble.
