Today's Project
Come on in to my craft room! I have been absent from hopping for a few months so I have been busy reorganizing my cardstock which I keep together by Color Collections. This goes back to my first days as a customer and how I started collecting my colors - one family at a time as I slowly acquired all the colors. After our recent Color Refresh, I have been looking forward to playing with all the new and returning colors. And when I saw the double spread in a recent Lands' End catalog that I received in the mail, my heart went pitter patter.
Makes you want to go grab one and dry off after your day in the sun, doesn't it? I spotted some people enjoying themselves at camp yesterday who probably would have enjoyed such colorful towels after their fun time at Side Cut Metropark!
Well, I started seeing our fabulous colors and grabbed some leaf dies to play with. And after running some errands and seeing all the water fun, I couldn't just stop with the leaves...
Project Details
Those of you that know me will totally understand the leaves and the hug sentiment for the birthday card that I needed for a friend. The Online Exclusive Irresistible Blooms Bundle was perfect for creating two cards while Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder was the one unifying accessory to the card trio. Berry Burst and Lemon Lolly were spotted in the stack of towels thus adding to the fun! Silver 1/8" Trim (part of an Online Exclusive ribbon pack) was cut in half to create the delicate bow. Silver Festive Pearls were added as the finishing touch.
The splatters in each ink color were added before embossing the Basic White card layer for the last two cards. The Stylish Shapes Dies banner was used for the Fun on Wheels sentiment. Misty Moonlight was used to compliment the Boho Blue featured in this special retirement card.
Yesterday had another little adventure to Cannonball Prairie Metropark where I was further inspired for a much needed Father's Day card for this weekend...
According to the Fish sign, one of the fish in the stamp set is a catfish! I will definitely color the fish the color(s) that it naturally one of these days, but for today they will be stamped with Pebbled Path ink and colored with Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Boho Blue, Moody Mauve and Calypso Coral inks using the coordinating fill-in stamp.
The inside of this card was inspired by the a family vacation to Big Lake, Michigan thirteen (13) years ago. Such a wonderful family vacation that year with lots of cherished memories.
The Beside Me image was stamped with Pebbled Path ink, colored with Stampin' Blends Markers (Light/Dark Crumb Cake, SU700, Light Misty Moonlight, Light/Dark Real Red, Dark Shaded Spruce, and Light Pretty Peacock) reminiscent of one their many other fishing trips, and fussy cut with love.
The inside of each card along with the Basic White Medium Envelope flaps were embossed to compliment the card fronts.
