Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop! We are glad you have joined us and look forward to spending time with you as we share inspiration with you about the Embossing Techniques. So sit back and enjoy your favorite cuppa as you enjoy your trip Around the World on Wednesday!
Today's Project
My sweet 97-year-old aunt sprouted her wings Monday morning and flew home by the afternoon. Today's project was created in her memory for my family.
Project Details
The single Meadow flower was die-cut four times from Basic White cardstock adhered with Adhesive Sheet. The die-cuts were stacked to create the image which was debossed on a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
The debossed (the opposite of embossing) image was watercolored with Polished Pink and Pear Pizzazz inks and a damp Medium Tip Water Painter.
The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder. A wet Water Painter was used to watercolor over the sentiment creating a Resist Emboss background.
Linen Thread was double wrapped around the debossed layer. The Linen Thread was threaded through the Resist Embossed sentiment label (die-cut with the coordinating Meadow label die) and tied off with a bow. The debossed layer was layered with Thick Basic White cardstock to create a slightly elevated layer.
The Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder was used for embossing the Pear Pizzazz layer.
The inside was embossed and stamped to compliment the card front leaving plenty of room for a handwritten note to my cousin. The Basic White Medium Envelope front and flap were stamped to complete the card ensemble.
