Gate Fold Accordion Anniversary Card

 

Hello!  I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful day!  Today I am hopping with some of my talented stamping friends from around the world who love creating with Stampin' Up!® products as much as I do!  We love hopping on the second weekends of the month - Saturday or Sunday depending on where you are in the world - and love sharing lots of inspiration with you.  There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and relax with your favorite cuppa as you peruse the hop.  

This month we are sharing our lots of amazing inspiration for our Technique Challenge of fun-fold favorites so really anything related to paper folding!

Today's Project

There is nothing like a special fun-fold for a special occasion!  This is a new to me fun-fold that is definitely for special occasions like today - my parents' wedding anniversary!  Many thanks to Lisa Curcio for inspiring me and Heidi Smith from the UK for inspiring Lisa.

Project Details

My parents had spider mums and greenery around their wedding cake 61 years ago... so the sunflower image from the August 2022 Sweet Sunflowers Paper Pumpkin Kit was the perfectly sized image to create my reproduction of this special moment.

The sunflower image was heat embossed with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder on Vellum and Shimmery White cardstocks.  Two vellum images were fussy cut, offset and adhered with Mini Glue Dots onto a Shimmery White fussy cut image.  The Graceful Tiles sentiment was heat embossed on Shimmery White, fussy cut and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  

The fern image from Nature's Prints is even the perfect touch for the band to keep the card closed.  The Evening Evergreen sheet of Texture Chic Designer Series Paper is my favorite and is sure to wow my parents with all the sparkle against the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper.  

The inside showcases the embossed floral image along with an embossed sentiment strip popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals with the ends adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Plenty of room was left for expressing our love to them on this special day.   The card fits in a standard 4-1/2" x 6-1/4" photo envelope or a similarly sized envelope (ie, a large Memories and More envelope).  I would suggest using a Vellum or DSP band (less bulk on the sides) for the card to fit into our standard Medium Size envelopes.
