Nature's Prints for a Sketch Challenge! |
Hello friends! I hope you are doing amazing on this mah-velous Monday. Today I am hopping with some Crafty Collaborators along the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop as we share lots of inspiration related to this sketch challenge.
There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
I absolutely loved playing with this sketch challenge! Due to the embossing folder that I chose and not wanting to switch it out, I made one element flip from the original sketch. The question is can you even notice why I did this?!? **wink**
Project Details
The largest Nature's Prints image was stamped with Night of Navy ink onto four (4) 1"x 4-1/2" strips of Basic White cardstock arranged similar to the sketch. Four (4) 1-1/16" x 4-9/16" strips of Night of Navy cardstock were adhered to the stamped strips. The layered strips were adhered to a Fern embossed 5" Basic White square. The Fern 3D Embossing Folder will emboss up a 4-3/8" square perfectly, so an additional section of the 5" embossed square was needed for my layout. There was a minuet non-embossed section so small (I noticed it though the recipient may not have) that I adjusted the sketch to fit my needs.
The 1" strip of Night of Navy cardstock was aligned vertically vs horizontally to better balance the offset double layered strips. The Nature's Prints sentiment was stamped with Night of Navy ink onto Basic White scraps and die-cut with a Stylish Shapes circle die. The Layering Circles die created the Vellum layer under the sentiment which was adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals onto the vertical strip. The assembled 5" layer was adhered to the 5-1/4" square Night of Navy card base.
The inside was stamped to compliment the card front. This oversize square card fits perfectly in a 5-1/2" square envelope available at stationery shops; however, a custom envelope made with the amazing Sun Prints 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper would be exquisite!
