Watercolored Mistletoe Magic for Christmas in July! |
Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend during mid-July! Today I am hopping with some demonstrator friends along the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop as we share lots of inspiration related to Christmas in July. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
With July being World Watercolor Month, this month's Christmas in July theme made me want to watercolor some mistletoe!
Project Details
The cluster image from Mistletoe Magic was stamped with Sahara Sand ink onto Shimmery White cardstock. The watercoloring was done using the ink pad lids and the Fine Tip Water Brush. The branches were watercolored with Sahara Sand. The leaves were watercolored with Evening Evergreen. Mistletoe berries are usually waxy to the touch, so drops of VersaMark ink refill were dotted over them then sprinkled with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder prior to heating with the Heat Tool on low. Magically the VersaMark ink bubbled up slightly.
The ribbon was stamped with Sahara Sand and watercolored with Real Red. Once dry to the touch, the ribbon was fussy cut and adhered with a Mini Glue Dot.
Splatters were created by flicking the Dark Evening Evergreen Stampin' Blends Marker randomly over the watercolored layer.
The watercolored layer was adhered to a Soft Suede card layer and an Evening Evergreen card base.
The inside was simply stamped and layered to compliment the card front. The Basic White Medium Envelope front and flap were stamped to give the recipient a sneak peek of what is inside.
