Good Feelings Sailboat |
Happy Thursday, y'all! I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful day! Today I am hopping with the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop as we share inspiration from this month's Color Inspiration Challenge. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water, or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
I have been wanting to create a sailboat card for quite some time now and was inspired by the photo of the sailboat sails along with four of the colors. I couldn't resist getting a little messy with ink and adhesive.
Project Details
Inspired by the colors of Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade and Smoky Slate...
I got inky with some vellum cardstock cut to the size of a standard card front. A clear block was pressed into the Pacific Point ink pad, spritzed with 91% isopropyl alcohol and dabbed onto the vellum with a cotton ball. The process was repeated with a second clear block, Daffodil Delight ink and a second cotton ball. Overlapping the two colors created a shade of green. The process was repeated with a third clear block, Poppy Parade ink and a third cotton ball. Overlapping the last two colors created a shade of coral.
Once dry, the colored vellum was adhered to larger layer of Basic White cardstock covered entirely with Adhesive Sheet. The vellum layer was trimmed, adhered to a slightly larger piece of Thick Basic White cardstock and then adhered to the Pacific Point card base.
Three sailboats with sails were punched with the Sailboat Builder Punch and adhered to the vellum layer with Mini Glue Dots. The Good Feelings sentiment was stamped with Pacific Point ink onto Basic White cardstock with the Stamparatus. This allowed for accurate multiple stamping if needed for complete coverage with the larger stamp.
A Deckled Rectangles die was used to create the sentiment layer which was wrapped with doubled Gray Granite Baker's Twine tied in a Figure 8 nautical knot. The layer was adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
