Full of Love Emboss Resist Card |
Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I am hopping with the Casually Crafting Design Team! This month's theme is a Sketch Challenge so there are sure to be quite a few inspirations to get your mojo going with some creativity. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Flipping the sketch horizontally helped me get creative with this challenge!
Emboss Resist was the first technique I remember loving when I started stamping fifteen (15) years ago... I was fascinated with how the heat embossing resisted the ink color that was applied on and around it. This sketch layout was just calling for this technique.
The main image was centered on a Basic Thick layer, stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. 1" was trimmed off of each side to create the side layers. Using the same image, the floral images were stamped and heat embossed. Once the images were cool to the touch, the fun began! Mint Macaron ink was applied with a Blending Brush. Several layers of ink were applied to achieve the desired look. A microfiber cloth (or other soft cloth you may have) wiped off the excess ink.The layers were layered up with additional layers of Basic White cardstock for a soft layered look with the center section layered up more than the sides. The layered sections were adhered to Sahara Sand layer for a classic look and adhered to the Sahara Sand card base. The sentiment was heat embossed on Sahara Sand, trimmed with scissors and adhered over a double Linen Thread bow with Stampin' Dimensionals.
The inside was layered and stamped to compliment the card front. The envelope front and flap were stamped in Mint Macaron to give a sneak peek of what's inside to the recipient.
More inspiration is just around the corner. I hope you have been inspired to try the Emboss Resist Technique with this sketch. Now it's time to continue along the blog hop - you're currently with me, Angie McKenzie, at #6- to get more inspiration from the others... so look at the list below and continue along. You definitely don't want to miss any.
Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world!
Love the elegant simplicity of the colour combination with the emboss resist technique. TFS Angie x
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Sara! Your amazing sketch with a twist. x
DeleteHi Angie, your card is elegant! I agree with you that it was easier for me to complete the Sketch Challenge changing the orientation of the card.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susan. Glad I wasn't the only one that felt inspired to turn it.
