Today's Project
I was thrilled when I learned that I was getting to CAS(e) a dear friend of mine, Tatiana Tobin, for this month's CAS(e) a Team Member with a Twist theme. I immediately knew what I was wanting to CAS(e); however, there were a few things that I need to know first.
CAS(e)ing My Aussie Friend
Tatiana and I became friends through a Random Act of Kindness card group. Not long after I became a demonstrator, she was doing Facebook lives and I quickly became one of her biggest fans cheering her on from across the waters. I loved one of the series she did, so that was my pick to CAS(e)!
To begin the creative process for today's project, I wanted to use her favorite colors, so when we chatted on Zoom last month (the twist for the challenge!), my main question for her was "which colors would you have used for your colouring series had they been available in every coloring medium?" I wasn't surprised at all when she told me "Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana and Melon Mambo - oooo, Polished Pink, now!" She was a bit shocked when I told my CAS(e) pick... but, hey, I'm a nature and flower lover, right?!?
Tatiana was a member of the 2021 Artisan Design Team and highlighted her favorite colors along with some of her favorite products - she loves snowflakes, butterflies and rainbows! - in some of her corporate posts. You can see her corporate posts on Facebook here.
The inspiration for today's project is Tatiana's "Let's Talk About Colouring" Series, her recent pop of colour case, and what I've always referred to as her go-to layout with an offset circle used primarily in her Facebook lives.
Project Details
The Happiness Abounds Bundle from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog was a used for creating this bunch of cards featuring different ways to color! The card bases and double layers are Sahara Sand cardstock.
Five of the cards were stamped with Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Polished Pink. The sixth card was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Simple designs were created to make replication easier. Each card features a different coloring technique with a Polished Pink rose surrounded by Bermuda Bay land Coastal Cabana leaves. The detailed lattice die was used for the background to accentuate the turn corners. Two of the Thick Basic White circles were embossed with the Elegant Eucalyptus 3D Embossing Folder for a special touch to some imperfections of the scraps I had used.
My favorite way to do No Line Coloring is with ink and a damp water brush. This technique was used twice - one using the fresh ink (darker in tones) and one using the remnants of the ink (lighter in tones). The darker tones were used to create a birthday card for a special niece that turned 16 this week.
A heat embossed triple layered sentiment strip was added to complete this card in Coastal Cabana cardstock. A few iridescent pearls were added as a finishing touch with my niece in mind
The insides were stamped and layered to compliment the card fronts. The envelope flaps were stamped to give a sneak peek of what's inside.
