Today's Project

One of our neighbors is recovering from a minor surgery so this Mini Slim Line card was made to bring a smile to her face as she is healing and recovering.  This adorable little mouse from the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog is retiring soon and will be a keeper in my collection to share with my penpals.  Can't you just imagine the messages that he can scribble for you?!?

Project Details

I love creating mini slim line cards that fit in our standard medium size envelopes.  This vertical top folding Basic White Thick Cardstock base was created from the 3" strip remaining after setting aside the other two mini slim card bases for other projects.  Yes, you heard correctly three (3) card bases from one sheet of cardstock.  

The Split Card Textures Dies created the lovely backdrop for the mouse.  The die-cut was adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to a Tahitian Tide cardstock layer.  The mouse was stamped with Early Espresso ink onto Basic White.  The fussy cut mouse was colored with the Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Combo Markers.  The pencil was colored with Light Melon Mambo, Light Starry Sky and Dark Parakeet Party Blends.  

The Nature's Prints sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso onto Basic Whaite cardstock.  The sentiment was diecut with a Deckled Rectangles Die then scrunched and wadded mutliple times for a worn paper look. The front paws and pencil were stamped, colored and fussy cut a second time to create dimension.  Thin strips of Stampin' Dimensionals were colored along the edges to coordinate with the pencil.  The paws were rounded with my Bone Folder and adhered with Mini Glue Dots.  The Horizon Dies were used to die-cut the On the Horizon wooden planks stamped in Crumb Cake ink.

The inside and envelope were stamped to compliment the card front.  The Nature's Prints flower was stamped with Early Espresso ink, colored with Stampin' Blends and fussy cut.  A second paw and partial arm were stamped, colored and fussy cut adhering with Double Sided Adhesive to secure the flower.
