Charming Sentiments with the upcoming Wonderful World SAB DSP |
Hello friends! I hope you are doing amazing on this last Monday of June. Today I am hopping with some Crafty Collaborators along the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop as we share lots of inspiration from this amazing sketch challenge. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
I was needing to create a sympathy card... one of those cards that is always so hard to make especially when you are close to the lost loved one. Today's sketch was the perfect that I needed to create this heartfelt card.
Project Details
The upcoming Wonderful World Designer Series Paper from the July-August Sale-a-Bration Brochure is the focus of this card. The lovely white lilies were fussy cut with much love. The Pear Pizzazz card layer was roughened along the edges with a bone folder along with the upward curved corner and adhered to the Pear Pizzazz card base.
The Charming Sentiments sentiment was stamped with VersaMark ink onto a piece of Vellum which had been die-cut using a Deckled Rectangles Die. The sentiment was heat embossed with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder using the low setting on the Heat Tool. Adhesive Sheet was applied to the vellum die-cut directly behind the sentiment.
The lilies were adhered to the Pear Pizzazz card layer with small amounts of Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The vellum layer was carefully placed over the lilies, pressing down on the sentiment when it was aligned. A 1/4" strip of scrap Gold Distressed Specialty Paper was adhered over the vellum with Tear & Tape Adhesive.
The inside was layered to compliment the card front allowing room for a handwritten message to the grieving recipient. The envelope flap was stamped with the Sending Smiles sentiments appropriate for the occasion.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Cathy. x
DeleteBeautiful card, Angie! I just love the way the deckled edges give everything a certain look. The colors are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Renee. Definitely an emotionally hard card to make so I was thankful for the sketch for inspiration.
DeleteFabulous card. Love the use of the die cut instead of a paper layer. The sentiment on the envelope ties in so well with your card. I’ve never thought of doing that on the envelope.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Definitely something that I usually like to do for any card I create.
