A walk along the beach with Friends are Like Seashells |
Hello friends! I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful day! Today I am hopping with some of my talented stamping friends from around the world who love creating with Stampin' Up!® products as much as I do! We love hopping on the second weekends of the month - Saturday or Sunday depending on where you are in the world - and love sharing lots of inspiration with you. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and relax with your favorite cuppa as you peruse the hop.
This month we are sharing projects based on our first Technique Challenge! I am sure that you will find lots of different interpretations and inspiration related to embossing.
Today's Project
Don't you just love to add texture to your cards?!? Well, the best way to do that is through embossing. There are so many possibilities! Today I have chosen to focus on my favorites... dry embossing and heat embossing. Here is today's project!
Project Details
I had some scraps from a previous project that I could not let go to waste... thus the choice of today's color palette which led to my imagination running wild. So just imagine... you're on a walk along a boardwalk headed to the beach shore line. The breeze is gently blowing as you approach the water with the splatters of the ocean waves falling against your face as you collect seashells in your macrame tote.
Well, I hope you're feeling it as the Timber, Splatters and Macrame Embossing Folders were layered up individually on a Basic White cardstock layer on the Petal Pink card base. The macrame layer is Pool Party with the other two layers being Basic White. The sea shells and sand dollar were stamped with VersaMark onto Shimmery White cardstock, heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and die-cut with the coordinating Seaside Seashells Dies. The die-cuts were watercolored with a water brush using Petal Pink, Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana and Pacific Point ink using the ink pad lids as the color palettes. They were arranged and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped separately in Coastal Cabana, Pacific Point and Calypso Coral and then fussy cut and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Two strands of Gray Granite Baker's Twine were wrapped around the card front twice and tied off with a knot leaving the ends slightly frayed to compliment the macrame. The finishing touch is the addition of the Coastal Cabana Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels.
The 1/2" section trimmed off of the cardfront was used to create the Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper border of 1/4" scraps. The section was adhered to the inside making it flush with the card front.
The inside was layered to compliment the card front. The envelope front and flap was stamped with one of my favorite retired Paper Pumpkin kits, A Little Smile.
More Inspiration
I hope that you have enjoyed your walk along the beach with me while creating this project. Up next on the blog hop is Aurélie where you can continue along to see what she and all the others have created. I am sure you will be filled with lots of inspiration! And should you be inspired, please leave us a comment... we love to hear from you.
