Daisy Garden for #GDP328 |
Happy Sunday! Today I am playing along with the Global Design Project. This week is Case the Designer and the layout of Janneke de Long's card is what caught my eye as it's a long time favorite of mine along with a few other amazing elements!
I have a friend who is going through a tough time, so this sketch was perfect inspiration for me to make a special card for her. In the middle of winter with snow on the ground and frigid temperatures, these fussy cut daisies are sure to bring a smile to her face.
The background was created on alcohol spritzed Basic White cardstock with 4 drops of Pool Party reinker. Additional spritzes created splatters while also allowing the ink to puddle, run and spread. Rolling the ink around until I was happy with the look, the Heat Tool came in handy to allow the ink and cardstock to dry completely without warping the cardstock. The Art Gallery sentiment was partially covered with a post-it note when inked with VersaMark to heat emboss the Pool Party cardstock strip with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.
The Daisy Garden image was stamped with Smoky Slate ink onto a card front size panel of Basic White using the Stamparatus. The leaves and stems were colored with Light Olive Olive, Dark Granny Apple Green and Light Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends Markers. The daisy centers were colored with a Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends Marker. The daisies were fussy cut and adhered over a messy loop of Linen Thread with Stampin' Dimensionals. The sentiment was adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Stampin' Dimensionals. The clear Elegant Faceted Gems were the finishing touch.
I hope that this project has inspired you to consider finding a challenge to inspire you with some of your card creations. Inspiration is everywhere! And while you're at it, don't forget to check out the weekly challenges over at the Global Design Project.
Have a blessed day!
