Artistic Dies Watercolor |
Happy Thursday, y'all! I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful day! Today I am hopping with the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop as we share inspiration from this lovely Color Challenge. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water, or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
This amazing color inspirational picture really stumped me for awhile until I decided to focus on the water aspect of it! So I chose to use my Water Painter to create my watercolor masterpiece using all five of these amazing colors.
Project Details
Shimmery White Cardstock was my choice for watercoloring this beautiful intricate die cut. The Self Adhesive Sheet was perfect for adhering this die-cut layer to the Evening Evergreen Cardstock layer. The key to getting a nice clean cut is to run the sandwich (plates, cardstock and die) through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine several times (I was happy with four times).
The next part is only for the ones that love to do puzzles and have the patience to peel the adhesive backing off of each intricate piece. Believe me, it was well worth the time (approximately 2 hours for slow as molasses me). For those of you not having the patience for this, you may get a similar effect with using the die-cut as a stencil or adding a silicone mat to the sandwich layering to emboss the die.
The watercoloring was done with a damp Water Painter Medium Tip Brush allowing for quick drying time for layering additional color for details.
The Shimmery White Cardstock muted the vibrancy of the colors. Additional color was added to the Magenta Madness layer with a Blending Brush to deep the cardstock just a tad. Basic Pearls were added for the floral centers. The Daffodil Daydream sentiment was stamped with Evening Evergreen ink onto a Shimmery White scraps and fussy cut.
The inside was layered to compliment the card front. The Blessings of Home sentiment was the stamped with Evening Evergreen and layered with coordinating cardstock. The envelope will be stamped to compliment the card prior to mailing..
