Something Old!" as 2021 comes to a close and 2022 begins. So sit back and enjoy your favorite cuppa as you enjoy your trip Around the World on Wednesday!
Today's Project
Our son has a best buddy that's furry and a tad cute. His name is Snowball. This little fluff ball of a dwarf hamster was not doing too well in November and we had to visit the vet again (we've been there a lot this fall) two days before Thanksgiving. Since that time, Snowball has gone through a round of medications and is still on one that he may have to remain on for the rest of his little life. Needless to say we are so thankful for the caring vets and staff who have taken such good care of him, but especially Dr. Lucy Rose who made room for us during the hectic Thanksgiving holiday schedule. With such special care of our little furry family member, a special card of thanks with holiday wishes was created and is what I'm sharing with you today.
Project Details
Inspired by the rustic Christmas decor that I have seen in the stores, the card was simply made with Basic White and Crumb Cake Cardstocks. The card front base layer was texturized with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder (a Jul-Dec 2021 Mini Catalog carryover product!) to create the rustic feeling to exude warmth. The Merriest Frames large detail die was die-cut and inserted into the coordinating Hybrid Embossing Folder to create the most amazing frame.
The Heartfelt Wishes sentiment was stamped on a 3/4" strip of Basic White and built up with two additional smaller Basic White cardstock layers prior to adhering to the card front. I am so going to miss this versatile sentiment stamp set!!! It is retiring on January 3, 2022, and has by far been my most loved stamp set from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog... so this is my something old.
The special photo was die-cut with the Merriest Frames rectangle die and adhered to an identical Basic White die-cut. This amazing Merriest Moments Bundle is a carryover to 2022 so needless to say, I am just a bit thrilled about this as this frame is perfect for year round!!!
The inside was layered for a personal note to the vet and staff along with wishing them a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year - hoping, of course, that we will not need to make another visit to the vet before then. The Christmas Trimmings detailed star - a favorite from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog - was doubled layered to create the inside focal point of the season (this was also used for Snowball's Christmas card - click here to see)... and this is something old, too.
The envelope was also stamped on the front and the flap to express our gratitude and holiday wishes as a sneak peek for the office as to what's inside.
