Poppy Moments for Veterans Day
Thank you for your service.

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop Banner

Hello friends!  I hope you are doing amazing on this thankful Thursday.  Today I am hopping with some Crafty Collaborators along the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop as we remember those who have served our countries around the world and inspiration related to In Memoriam.  There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!

Today's Project

No one in my immediate family has served in the Armed Forces; however, my late father-in-law, my late uncle and about half-a-dozen late uncle-in-laws and aunt-in-laws have.  So my heart is full of gratitude to those who have served our country and/or are currently serving our country.

Poppies for Veterans

Project Details

Red, white and blue is my intentional color palette for today.  The Poppy Moments Dies were used to die cut the Real Red Poppies which were sponged with Cherry Cobbler ink for shading.  The centers were die cut with Night of Navy Cardstock scraps.  The Peaceful Moments sentiment was heat embossed on Night of Navy cardstock.  The elements were arranged around the Painted Labels Dies die-cut label which was adhered to the Timber embossed layer with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The embossed layered was also scored at each 1" mark to resemble pine wood planks.  The retired Denim 3/8" Ribbon (coming back in the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog!!!) was just the special touch that I wanted to add a touch of softness for the veteran to touch while holding the card.

The inside was also embossed along the top to coordinate with the front.  A poppy was also included allowing plenty of room for a handwritten message of thanks for the veteran.

So many veterans keep their memories of their service to themselves.   And there is no way that those of us who have not been in their shoes will ever know or understand what sacrifices we have made.  All we can do is to remember that whenever we see a veteran or someone in uniform currently serving our country to extend a word of gratitude to them.  On this Veterans Day and every day, please remember to thank those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.

More Inspiration

I hope you have been inspired to create something special for a veteran or their family.  Now it's time to continue along the blog hop - you're currently with me, Angie McKenzie, at #15 - to get more inspiration from the others... so look at the list below and continue along.  You definitely don't want to miss any.

Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world!
Have a blessed day!
