Today's Project
This is such a special blog post for me as the month of November is very dear to me in so many ways. My maternal grandmother was a November baby and she was definitely one who lived with the "attitude of gratitude". So many childhood memories of attending church with her and holding her gloved hand as we prayed are still dear to my heart. It is only fitting that at this age of my life that I would pick her birth month as my favorite month.
Thankfully, I have been blessed that my mom has continued to instill the same teachings over the years that I recall from my childhood. My positive and growth mindsets are all thanks to the teachings handed down from generation to generation. The memories of togetherness captured in our hearts and in Kodak moments to cherish forever.
We boy moms can only love our boys so much before we get the "oh, mom..." statement or look, but our boys/young men/men always know how much we love and adore them. They just have their PDA standards as the years go by. And, yes, even the hubby is the same way. Thankfully, the bond that I cherish with my mom... I am able to shower my friends with the love that has been showered on me.
Today's project reflects the memories that I have captured of my son over the years... while the leaves in the air are always reminders of the love showered on us from above during the change of the seasons.
Project Details
Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock created the 4-1/4" square card bases. Very Vanilla 4" squares were covered with Soft Succulent Ever Eden Cotton Paper trimmed to 5" squares and wadded up in balls. The crumpled paper was unwadded, stretched out and adhered to the Very Vanilla square covered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue allowing for random positioning of the crumpled paper into place.
The Seasons of Fun image was stamped with Smoky Slate ink onto the 3" Very Vanilla square. Each image was colored was Stampin' Blends... the leaves were colored with Light Cinnamon Cider, Light Soft Succulent, Light Evening Evergreen and Dark Mango Melody. The animals were colored with Light Crumb Cake. The hats were colored with Light Real Red and Light Evening Evergreen. The shoes were colored with Light Soft Sued and Light/Dark Crumb Cake. The dog's scarf was colored with Light Evening Evergreen and Light Crumb Cake and his tongue with Light Polished Pink. The outfits were colored with Dark Crumb Cake, Light Real Red and Light Misty Moonlight and Light Evening Green with Light/Dark Crumb Cake. Stampin' Dimensionals adhered the colored layer and fussy cut element to the crinkled paper layer.
The inside was layered with Very Vanilla (4" square) for stamping a Pretty Pumpkin sentiment with Evening Evergreen ink. The envelope front and flap were stamped and colored with Stampin' Blends to compliment the card front.
This fun stamp set can fill so many hearts with coloring fun! Which colors would you want to grab to color with?
