Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop! We are glad you have joined us and look forward to spending time with you as we share inspiration with you about creating 10 projects in 30 minutes. So sit back and enjoy your favorite cuppa as you enjoy your trip Around the World on Wednesday!
Today's Project
Lots of laughs have been shared within the planning group for today's theme... creating 10 cards in 30 minutes is definitely a challenge in itself for creative cardmakers that will spend hours creating one card. So I hope that you enjoy what I created in 30 minutes!
Please keep in mind that I did not, I repeat did not, include my planning time including cutting the cardstock layers for the challenge. If I had, the final time would have been a wee bit over. I did have my iPhone handy running the stopwatch as I was creating the cards so here's the screenshoot that I took when 10 were complete....
Project Details
Part of my planning process included selecting the angle of the Hand-Penned Petals image on what size layer along with Basic White vs Very Vanilla and the colors of the petals. Evening Evergreen was my color choice for the leaves and stems. Once the design was decided upon, I created a sample so I knew what I was aiming for....
Yes, I was daring enough to aim high and create a multiple layered card with a touch of linen thread. So the with the layers all cut and stacked, I was ready to get started! NOTE: The stopwatch was stopped long enough to screenshot and/or write down the time.
The sentiments were previously set up on the Stamparatus along with the markings made on the Small Grid Paper so I knew where to place inside card layers. The sentiments were inked with the brush tip of the Evening Evergreen Stampin' Write Marker. This was going to be easy... 10 inside layers were done in less than 5 minutes! Whew!
Now for my favorite part! Stamping the card fronts! The small grid paper was all marked up so I knew where to place the Very Vanilla card layers.
The floral image was stamped with Gray Granite ink onto the Very Vanilla card layer. The fill images were already on the clear blocks so ink pads were opened and placed beside the Stamparatus ready for stamping. The large floral image was stamped with Bumblebee ink, the small floral image with Flirty Flamingo ink and the leaf images with Evening Evergreen ink. The stem and receptacle were intentionally filled imperfectly with the bullet tip of the Light Evening Evergreen Stampin' Blends Marker.
Ten card fronts stamped individually - done! Time on the stopwatch was 19:00.42 so I was like no way, but I got this. With an adrenaline rush, I needed to fold the card bases. Done! Time on the stopwatch was now 20:36.25 and, now I know there's no way, I'll be assembling what I originally designed with the multi layers and the linen thread bow.
Creative assembly began first with two image only cards, then I started layering the image... time was flying by way too fast, so I took away a layer and alternated colors... even adding a tilt. Whew! 10 cards completed without all three layers, linen thread or the insides that I had previously stamped in record time for me with time to spare! The fastest 28 minutes, 36 seconds and 25 milliseconds that I've documented.
But I couldn't just stop... because I felt that I wasn't done. So I went ahead and completed the remaining 10 note cards as originally designed along with adding the inside layers and stamping the front of the envelopes!
