Happy Saturday and welcome to my blog! Today I am hopping along the Ink.Stamp.Share Monthly Blog Hop as we share projects which we have created using this Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge created by Jo. We hope that we inspire you to create along with us. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
I had fun challenging myself with these elements in the challenge this month! It was a hard decision to make as my creativity was going off the charts... so don't be surprised if you see some more inspiration based on this Tic-Tac-Toe grid from me later. **WINK** I chose to highlight the vertical row of Blue, Square, Christmas along with the horizontal row of Jewels, Circle, Blue and the diagonal row of Jewels, Ribbon, Christmas.
Project Details
Starting off with Christmas, I knew that I was wanting to play with the Seasons of Fun host stamp set. This is such a wonderful stamp set to color and I have definitely been enjoying doing just that over the past week and will continue to do so over the next two months. Wanting to go a bit different with the square element, I created a panel which is similar to the popular Joy Fold Technique so I'm calling it a modified Joy Fold and embossed it with a Stitched with Whimsy die.
The blue element is all the wonderful shades of blue that create a fun monochrome fashion statement with her warm clothes. The circle element is seen numerous times throughout the off-stamped snowflakes. The ribbon element is the Misty Moonlight/silver Baker's Twine from the Flowers of Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack which holds down the surprise message behind the fun stamped, embossed panel. And the final jewel element was actually added during the photoshoot when I realized that the silver in the twine needed something else to give it a boost... so the Rhinestone Basic Jewels were just the right finishing touch.
Are you interested in the colors that I used? Ok, here they are (if not, just scoot down to the next paragraph!)...
- Snow - Light Pool Party Stampin' Blends Marker for the ground coverage; Pool Party Classic Stampin' Pad for the off-stamped snowflakes
- Sled - Real Red Stampin' Blends Marker Combo Pack
- Christmas Tree - Light Old Olive Stampin' Blends Marker (needles), Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends Marker (star), Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Marker Combo (bag)
- Girl - Light Petal Pink Stampin' Blends Marker (face), Light Soft Suede Stampin' Blends Marker (hair); Dark Balmy Blue, Light Misty Moonlight, Light Night of Navy Stampin' Blends Markers (coat, boots, hat)
The stamped image opens to reveal a Misty Moonlight seasonal message from Tidings & Trimmings surrounded by off-stamped Pool Party Seasons of Fun snowflakes. The Basic White panel was also embossed with the Stitched with Whimsy die to match the front.
And here's a side view showing how this fun panel looks from the side.
The inside was layered and stamped to compliment the front to share the wishes of the season. The envelope front and flap were also stamped to give the recipient a sneak peek of what is inside.
I cannot wait to share with you later, my idea for with using all the elements for this fun challenge! So be sure to visit the Showcase blog hop next month to see it!
