There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
It's a windy, rainy day on this lovely Saturday so enjoy this sunshine from the project on my craft desk for some Christmas cards that still needed to be made for some special cousins of mine. Our grandmother always had an amaryllis blooming in pot in her bedroom around Christmas and even had some amazingly larger ones in her flower garden between the house and the family grocery store. One summer I remember her standing in front of a large blooms with her hand right beside it. I cannot wait to see if my cousins recall this, too.
Project Details
The Amaryllis Abloom image was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto Basic White Cardstock. The bloom was colored with Real Red Combo Stampin' Blends Markers. The foliage was colored with Dark Granny Apple Green and Light Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends Markers blending the colors to a lovely shade of Garden Green.
The stamped layer was layered onto Evening Evergreen and Basic White layers. The Poinsettia Petals sentiment was inked with Evening Evergreen onto a 3/4" strip of Basic White and layered twice with additional Basic White scraps. The Crumb Cake layer was inked with Crumb Cake and randomly stamped with the background image.
A 1-1/2" strip of Evening Evergreen Ever Eden Cotton Paper was placed on the Crumb Cake layer and embossed with Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder. The amaryllis layers were adhered to the embossed layer. Crumb Cake Baker's Twine was double wrapped around the Crumb Cake layer and tied off with a bow. The multiple layers were adhered to the Crumb Cake card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.
The inside was layered and stamped to compliment the card front allowing plenty of room for some correspondence. The envelope front and flap was stamped to compliment the card front.
And just in case you were wondering, yes, the cards were made into the night... and with the morning daylight this is a look at all of the completed cards which I hope will warm the hearts of my extended family as we cherish memories from our past Christmases together.
