Today's Project
The changing of the seasons throughout the year is always one of my favorite times of year. It's now beginning to feel like fall here in NW Ohio with the temperatures dropping at night and the highs in the upper 70s. The wind is gusty at times and the leaves are changing magical colors. The new Gorgeous Leaves Bundle was a must for me to play with for today's project.
Project Details
The baby wipe technique is always a must to play with at this time of year. Folding a baby wipe and placing it on a Clear Block E with some drops of ink became my ink pad for the background splatter image and a few of the leaves. The remainder of the leaves were stamped and off-stamped with Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Garden Green and Soft Suede inks onto Very Vanilla Cardstock and die-cut with the coordinating Intricate Leaves Dies. The large splattered image was stamped twice with the baby wipe ink pad onto the Very Vanilla Cardstock layer. The leaves were arranged randomly along a diagonal to reflect the color changes of leaves from the start of Spring through Summer into Fall. The leaves were adhered to the Very Vanilla layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Mini Glue Dots.
The Love of Leaves sentiment was stamped in Soft Suede ink onto the Stitched Rectangle die-cut. The Label Me Fancy Punch was used to punch to holes to thread the Crumb Cake Baker's Twine which was doubled and looped on each side before wrapping to the back and adhering with Tear & Tape Adhesive.
The woodgrain image was off-stamped with Soft Suede ink onto the Crumb Cake Cardstock layer. The leaf layer was adhered to the Crumb Cake layer with Tear & Tape Adhesive. The Crumb Cake layer was adhered to two additional slightly smaller Crumb Cake Cardstock layers to create a subtle raised layer. The layers were adhered to the Crumb Cake card base.
The inside was completed to compliment the card front. The layers were repeated along with the stamping allowing plenty of room to correspond with the recipient. The envelope front and flap were stamped also to give the recipient a sneak peek of what's inside.

Just beautiful, fall is my favorite season here in New England USA.
ReplyDeleteStill a technique I just have to try. This is so beautiful
ReplyDeleteFabulous Angie, love the transition from full greenery through the various stages of changing of leaf colour! Great technique to showcase this transition. This set is sitting in a box which arrived yesterday and I haven't had a chance to open yet, so you are inspiring me to open that box and get stamping! Thanks for all your organisation for this hop! You are an inspiration. xx
