Today's Project
Once in awhile we just need to take a mental vacation - just because! |
Ten years ago, our family had the best vacation ever! My hubby, son and I together with my brother, his wife and two daughters gifted my parents with a week long family vacation in an amazing log cabin on Dandridge Lake in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. This was my first experience with renting a house large enough to accommodate three families with young children. Viewing the cabin online and trusting the process was definitely outside of my comfort zone. Much less the stress of having to coordinate the work schedules of my brother and hubby - thankfully me and my sister-in-law were stay-at-home moms and my parents were retired! My parents persistently insisted that they would pay for everything, but my brother and I stood firmly together with our resounding "no thank you" stance. My parents had no idea what was in store for them. They ended up having the surprise of a lifetime when their brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews came to visit us all for a surprise anniversary party! The look on my momma's face when she saw her sisters when she walked in the door after a ride down to the lake is a moment I will forever cherish.
Project Details
Add the water with Misty Moonlight ink and a Blending Brush. Add the sunset sky with Calypso Coral ink and a Blending Brush. Adhere the stamped backgrounds to slightly larger Crumb Cake Cardstock layers and adhere to the Crumb Cake card base. Die cut the sentiment label with the Scalloped Contours Die and thread with Crumb Cake Baker's Twine tying it off with a bow. Adhere to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.
No card is complete without stamping the inside! Repeat the layers and stamping to compliment the card front allowing plenty of room to correspond to the recipient. And for an extra special touch, stamp the envelope front and flap, too!
