Hey y'all!  I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful day!  Today I am hopping with some of my talented stamping friends from around the world who love creating with Stampin' Up!® products as much as I do!  We love hopping on the second weekends of the month - Saturday or Sunday depending on where you are in the world - and love sharing lots of inspiration with you.  There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and relax with your favorite cuppa as you peruse the hop.

This month we are sharing things related to our Christmas in July theme!  Nothing like this wonderful theme to get you motivated to start making Christmas cards, right?!  Right!  There are so many wonderful ideas so hopefully you might decide to give some of my ideas a try.

Today's Project

This time last year, most of us were hopping together with the blog hop that Stamping INKspirations spun off from.  On that blog hop, I shared the details for how to create the Poinsettia card horizontally so the specifics can be found here and the paper cuts down further in today's blog post.  **SMILE**

And guess what?!?  Another card I created using the same technique as the striped card can be found on my blog post from earlier today.

The card on the left features some of the trimmed off piece from the snowflake card.... in fact, there's still enough leftover to create a third card just by creating the one card front size layer.   Pretty cool, don't you think?  And if you love the colors, you'll love the new Whimsy & Wonder Suite in the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog... So let's see how you can create the snowflake card!

Project Details

Create the background panel by adhering 1/2" strips of Misty Moonlight, Mint Macaron, Mossy Meadow, Blushing Bride and Polished Pink to a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" Basic White cardstock layer.  Trim to 3-7/8" x 5-1/2" saving the scraps for other projects.

Die-cut two large So Many Snowflakes from Basic White Cardstock and one smaller snowflake from Vellum Cardstock.  Select a Snowflake Wishes snowflake image, stamp in Misty Moonlight ink and dampen with a Medium Tip Water Painter before stamping onto a 1-1/2" strip of Basic White Cardstock.  Stamp the sentiment in Misty Moonlight onto the cardstock panel.  Splatter the panel with the damp water painter by tapping it against a clear block (I used the one that I was stamping with).

Wrap the Misty Moonlight/Silver Baker's Twine around stamped panel twice and knot.  Tie a fancy bow (aka Billie Bow) and adhere with Mini Glue Dots.  Layer up the panel by adhering 3-5 layers of Basic White cardstock.  Adhere to the strip panel over the snowflakes.  Adhere all layers to the Misty Moonlight card base.

Stamp the snowflake several times along the edge of the inside Basic White layer.  Simply redampen the stamp with the water painter and restamping.  If you wish to have a darker image, restamp in the Misty Moonlight ink.  Stamp the sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink.  Add splatters along the edge.  Stamp the envelope front and flap to give the recipient a sneak peek for what's inside.

    2. Ooh, snowflakes! Gorgeous how they fade away.
I love the striped background - and it’s very thrifty if you to use the offcuts in other places. The hand-penned card is beautiful - thanks for the inspiration 💌
