Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - July 2021 | Positive Thoughts Christmas in July

 

Hello friends!  I hope you are doing amazing on this thankful Thursday.  Today I am hopping with some Crafty Collaborators along the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop as we share lots of inspiration for Christmas in July with items found in the Stampin' Up! 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.  There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!

Today's Project

Christmas in July has always been amazing to me as I am always inspired by the colors in nature that I see on my daily walks along the bike trail (weather permitting, of course!).  An extra panel created for another project (click here for the inspiration) was just what I needed for today's Christmas card.  Highlighting the slim size of the die cut panel, I couldn't resist creating an A4 size card.  

Project Details

Using my Layer templates, it was easy to decide which layers to use.  Please see below for the layers that you can use to create multiples of this card in a flash.

Stamp the Positive Thoughts leaf image with Garden Green ink and lightly apply water with a Water Painter.  Stamp the watercolored image onto the Shimmery White die-cut panel.  Allow to dry then adhere to the Garden Green layer with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Emboss the Crumb Cake layer with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.  Stamp the Poinsettia Petals sentiment in Garden Green ink onto scraps of Shimmery White Cardstock and emboss with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.  Die-cut the intricate Nature's Thoughts Cherry Cobbler layer, thread Linen Thread through the die-cut, wrap around the top three cardstock layers and tie off with a bow.  Adhere the stamped, embossed sentiment panel with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Stampin' Dimensionals.

Replicate the layers and watercolor stamping technique (lighter shades are created by applying ink mixed with water from the ink pad lid with the water painter) to complete the inside of the card.  The Positive Thoughts sentiment seems to be the perfect one to use for any occasion when you are corresponding with a dear friend, don't you agree?!  Stamp the A4 envelope (Stampin' Up! does not have these available to purchase in North America) Garden Green ink to compliment the card.
