Lovely You with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder |
Happy Wednesday! Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I am hopping with some Crafty Collaborators along the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop and the challenge this month is a color challenge! There are so many ways to use the colors so you will see lots of inspirations of them. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
Stephanie created a cheerful color challenge for us this month and it was just the inspiration that I needed to create a card for a family friend that needs some cheering up.
I love that she selected colors within the same Stampin' Up! color family - the Brights Collection - as this can make it easy for any stampers to create some amazing projects. Those just starting out can purchase 2 packs of cardstock (Basic White and Brights), the ink pads (Brights Collection or individually), a stamp set and a pack of envelopes. I would also recommend a Paper Trimmer, the recommended Clear Blocks and a Stampin' Pierce Mat (if the stamp set is photopolymer).
Project Details
Finding inspiration in the Annual Catalog, I cased the card seen on page 36 in the upper left corner making it my own by stepping it up a bit.
Stamping the Lovely You background elements in Granny Apple Green, Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo onto two Basic White card layers brought a smile to face. Using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder added so much to the stamped card layers. Adding the Layering Circles for the sentiment layer was perfect for the sentiment that I needed for our friend's "feel better soon" card! The Basic Pearl Jewels were added as a finishing touch.
The inside layers were replicated to compliment the card front. Embossing was done on both sides of the inside layer with just enough stamping to allow plenty of room for corresponding to our friend. The envelope front and flap were also stamped as a sneak peek for what's inside.
I just couldn't stop at one card as these background stamps were so fun to use with this color palette. For the second card, I stamped the background on a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock that was slightly smaller than the Melon Mambo card layer. As the stamped layer was trimmed down to strips to fit the coordinating card layer, parts of the design were cut off. The trimmed down sizes are listed below so you can either stamp the strips individually or either line them up against each other and stamp a continuous pattern.White Baker's Twine was wrapped around the stamped strips layered panel twice and tied off with a bow. A scrap of Melon Mambo cardstock was dusted with my Embossing Buddy (retired) prior to stamping the sentiment with VersaMark and heat embossing with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. The embossed sentiment was adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. The stamped strips panel was adhered to the Tasteful Textile embossed layer with Stampin' Dimensionals.
The inside layers were replicated to compliment the card front. Embossing was done on all sides of the inside layer with stamping added in the corners to highlight the embossing wile allowing plenty of room for corresponding to family. The envelope front and flap were also stamped as a sneak peek for what's inside.
