Share It Sunday Blog Hop - June 2021 | Go Purple!

Today's Projects

This week has been a fun week for me!  Earlier this week I attended The Longest Day event at my parents' residential living community advocating the Alzheimer's Association.  Honestly, I couldn't resist donating to this wonderful cause while enjoying dunking the person that provides so many fun activities for my parents.  And being able to share some laughs with my parents just added to the fun!

Needless to say, I had to create some fun thank you cards for these brave souls who were dunked who knows how many times on the windy, longest day of the year!  

Project Details

To begin creating a Faux Alcohol Background, line a cookie baking sheet from your kitchen cupboards and double line with paper towels.  Place a sheet of Window Sheet down - I used one the size of the Stamparatus platform as I use it all the time.  Spritz liberally with rubbing alcohol.  Randomly drop Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather ink.  Watch the inks spread.  Spritz again as needed to help the ink move.  Lift the window sheet to assist the movement, if needed.  Place Basic White Thick cardstock pieces face down to lift the inks.  Repeat until all ink is transferred.  Reapply ink and rubbing alcohol as needed.  Set aside to dry.

Die cut images from Basic White cardstock.  I used the Layering Hugs large die, the tulip double die and  the double leaf die along with the Playful Alphabet Dies to spell out "END ALZ".  I also white heat embossed the Flowers of Friendship sentiments on one of the inked panels which was die cut them with two of the Scalloped Contours label dies.  The Color & Contour flower used was actually an extra that I had from a previous project...  and was the perfect addition to these projects. 

The cards were quick to assemble after all the die cutting was done.
