Ink.Stamp.Share June Showcase Blog Hop | Graduation

Today's Project

This has been quite the week here in NW Ohio!  Lots of family and friends enjoying the hard earned accomplishments of their graduating seniors!  Last month I shared a card that I created for my 2nd cousin (click here for details, if you'd like).  Today, I'm sharing the graduation card that I created for the beautiful young woman who made me an aunt.

Project Details

Inspired by a card that I watched her create in my craft room, I chose similar colors of her creation as I knew they would compliment her so well in the Beautiful Moments scene that I lovingly colored with a nice handful of Stampin' Blends.  The image was stamped in Smoky Slate onto Basic White cardstock.  Using several colors of Blends to obtain the colors that I needed for a special feeling... made this auntie smile.  The colored images was die cut with a Scalloped Contours Die and layered up with two additional diecuts.  The sentiment was inked in Smoky Slate onto a Basic White strip of cardstock.  

Daisy Garden was the perfect backdrop for this flower loving young woman whom I still see as the little one that I used to sing lullabies to.... yes, I'm feeling very sentimental.  Time just flies by way too quickly!  The background stamp was inked in Daffodil Delight on Shimmery White with blended ink added with the Blending Brush. 

The inside of the card was similarly stamped and layered.  Special sentiments selected just for her to share in her excitement over this awesome achievement.   

The Shimmery White 1" strip sentiment was strategically adhered only at the edges creating a little "tuck away" for a special gift being sent across the miles.

This special day is the beginning a new chapter in her life where she will shine and thrive like only a Plank girl will!  xx

Personal Side Note

Little did I know that creating this card on her big day with no idea of her school colors nor what she was wearing that I was actually not far off with the colors!  This is a screenshot that I took as she accepted her diploma.  Gotta love technology when you can't be there, right?!?

And this is one of the pictures that her dad sent me later that night!

So glad that he was able to capture her sweet personality and smile!
