Happy Wednesday! Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I am hopping with some Crafty Collaborators along the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop and the challenge this month is a sketch! So the sky is the limit as to how you will see the interpretations of it. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
Some of my friends have these adorable hot dogs in their families... and they are absolutely spoiled. ALL. OF. THEM. One in particular is a sweet soul who has recently been given a new home as her previous owner passed away. Over the past several months, I have heard all about "Miss Daisy" so she is mine inspiration for today's project!
Miss Daisy is not too fond the sound of fireworks. This is a picture of her as she heard fireworks Memorial Day weekend. Those of you in neighborhoods who love to set off fireworks throughout the year.... please think of your neighbors and alert them of your plans so pets, children, adults and elderly can be prepared for the loud sounds that may cause them undue anxiety.
Project Details
Layer three 2" Basic White Cardstock squares on the Stamparatus. Mark the corners of corners of each square on the Small Grid Paper. Center the dachshund image over the squares and press down the plate to adhere. Remove all the squares. Stamp the dachsund image in Crumb Cake ink on the grid paper. Place each square individually on the grid paper and stamp with the Stamparatus. Color each of the squares with Stampin' Blends and adhere together with liquid glue.
Cut 2-1/4" squares from Cinnamon Cider, Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green cardstock and emboss with the large Stitched with Whimsy square die. Adhere as shown. Wrap White Baker's Twine around the double cardstock layers three times and tie off with a bow. Heat emboss the sentiment on Gorgeous Grape cardstock and fussy cut. Die cut the Kangaroo Dies heart with Basic White cardstock and color with your favorite tools. I used some leftover scraps from my "Go Purple!" projects last week where I did some backgrounds with Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather ink refills and rubbing alcohol (click here and here if you missed seeing these blog posts). Adhere all layers to a Basic White Thick card base.
For the inside, replicate the layers and stamp your favorite image on the inside. I couldn't resist stamping a wagging tail! **WINK** And remember to stamp the envelope front and flap for the recipient so they get a sneak peek of what's inside!
