Hello and welcome to my blog! Today I am hopping with the Casually Crafting Design Team! This month's theme is a Tic Tac Toe Challenge so there are sure to be quite a few different interpretations from the grid giving you lots of inspiration. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
Project Details
Create your card bases by scoring a piece of Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock in half (vertically or horizontally) and turning it 90 degrees and cutting it down the middle. Fold both pieces at the score lines and you have two card bases.
Cut one piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock to four card layers - two measuring 4" x 5-1/4" and two measuring 3-3/4" x 5". A second piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock will be used to cut various strips of cardstock for stamping and punching -- 1-3/4" x 5-1/4" strips for punching the blooms, 1/2" strip for the leaves, 1/4" strip for the flower centers, and 3/4" strips for the sentiments.
Watercolor Shapes Photopolymer Stamp Set - Item #156968 |
Stamp the card base fronts with the Flowers of Friendship floral spray image in Crushed Curry randomly around the edges. Wrap linen thread twice around a card front layer tying off with a bow. Layer up the the stamped sentiment strip with three additional same size strips. Place under the linen and arrange the blooms and leaves. Adhere with dots of liquid glue. Adhere the stacked sentiment strip. Apply Wink of Stella to the blooms for the finishing touch.
4" x 5-1/4" card front layer aligned to the bottom and right edges. |
3-3/4" x 5" card front layer centered on the card base. |
3-1/4" square card front layer centered on a 3-3/4" square card front layer aligned to the bottom and right edges of a 4-1/4" square card base. |
The inside is just as important as the card front. Complete the inside of the card by stamping the inside card base, adding layers to match the card front, and adding a flower and leaf if you wish. The envelope front and flap are also completed by stamping the floral spray image.
