Happy Tuesday, y'all! I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a terrific day! Today I am hopping with some crafty collaborators along the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop as we share lots of inspiration about coloring. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water, or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
Oh, how I love to color!!! Today's project uses two (2) of my favorite coloring techniques - watercoloring and coloring with Stampin' Blends. Watercoloring is actually my most favorite coloring technique as it is so forgiving and our Water Painters make it so easy. My second favorite is coloring with Stampin' Blends which are alcohol based markers that make colors really pop. And with the launch of the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog, there is another medium I cannot wait to try - coloring with pastels (more on this later)!
The Quiet Meadow Bundle is definitely a new favorite of mine in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. The coordinating Meadow Dies have so many amazing dies to choose from to create with. So let's get started coloring!
Project Details
Cut a 1" x 8-1/2" piece of Vellum Cardstock. On the smooth side, randomly scribble the brush tips of the Fresh Freesia Blends Markers along the length. With a Stampin' Spritzer filled with Rubbing Alcohol (purchased at a local store), lightly spray the vellum. Watch the colors spread, tilt the vellum to help the alcohol and ink spread. Dab with a paint brush stop the flow of color as you wish. Dry with Heat Tool on low setting to help move the color as it dries. Repeat the process with Light Polished Pink Stampin' Blends Marker.
Wrap the dry Vellum strip around a 4" x 5-1/2" Basic White cardstock layer. Adhere to the back with Tear & Tape Adhesive. Adhere to the Sahara Sand vertical top folding card base with Tear & Tape (or Stampin' Seal, if you prefer).
Slip the watercolored floral stem through the slotted side of the Scalloped layer. Heat emboss the Quiet Meadows sentiment with White Stampin' Emboss Powder onto a scrap piece of Soft Succulent and die cut with the Meadows Die tag. Attach to the watercolored stem with Gray Granite twine (from the Basic Essentials Twine Pack!) tying off with a bow.
Create stacked die cut layers of the six-petal die and scalloped die with Basic White Thick cardstock. Adhere the scalloped layers with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Trim the six-petal die cuts, adhere lightly with liquid glue. Adhere the stacked scalloped layers to the stamped layer. Adhere the stacked petals to the watercolored image with small dots of liquid glue.
