Hey y'all! I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful day! Today I am hopping with some of my talented stamping friends from around the world who love creating with Stampin' Up!® products as much as I do! We love hopping on the second weekends of the month - Saturday or Sunday depending on where you are in the world - and love sharing lots of inspiration with you. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and relax with your favorite cuppa as you peruse the hop.
This month we are sharing things related to our All Things Floral theme! There are so many ways to use, display and enjoy flowers... I have chosen to focus on a the art of gifting flowers!
Today's Project
Inspired by the colors in the current challenge (#CI98) over at Colour INKspiration Challenges on Facebook, I couldn't resist using the colors for my projects today! Mother's Day is tomorrow here in the US and there's no better way to show your mom or grandmother how much you love them than with flowers - especially flowers wrapped in newspaper or tissue paper so she can put them in her favorite vase!
Project Details
Wrapped Bouquet was just calling me to play with it. This fun set filled with a fun font, artistically drawn bouquets and a newspaper print background makes this a must have stamp set for those of you who love newspapers. Granted there's not many of us newspaper lovers around, but I tell you, there's nothing like newpapers.... the social pages, recipes, obituaries and comics have always been my favorite sections.
The newspaper was created with packing paper (aka newsprint paper) found where moving supplies are sold here in the US. I've had some in my craft space for several years as it's always handy to use for messy DIY painting projects. The coordinating die from the Wrapped Flowers Dies for cutting the "newspaper" was folded and the diecut bouquet was tucked inside. The newspaper was adhered with mini glue dots onto a Basic White panel that was adhered to a Flirty Flamingo panel. The bouquet was elevated with Stampin' Dimensionals. The largest Scalloped Contours die was used to create the bottom Basic White card layer that was adhered to a Gray Granite landscape card base. The little heat embossed tag was die cut from Gray Granite cardstock with a bit of white baker's twine attached.
The inside was simply layered, stamped along with an embossed greeting. The coordinating envelope was also stamped.
The second card features the tulip arrangement from Jar of Flowers. This arrangement was similarly colored and stamped. The addition of several other Blends colors like Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and Highland Heather were used for a different feel. The sentiment strip was generation stamped with Gray Granite and dry embossed with one of the Greenery embossing folders. The Basic White layer and the Flirty Flamingo card base front were die cut with the Scalloped Contours scalloped edge die along the right sides.
Vellum was die cut and colored with the Dark Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends Marker to resemble tissue paper wrapped around the newspaper!
The inside has a Basic White scalloped layer with stamping and coloring to compliment the card front.
