Hello y'all! I am so glad that you've popped by on this cool Spring day here in NW Ohio. Today I am hopping with some Crafty Collaborators along the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop as we are sharing lots of inspiration in our projects that are for graduations. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
This is an exciting year of high school graduations in my family... two special girls dear to my heart as they are the next generation of Planks! Today's card is for the fiesty, red-haired, athletic, artist who is my second cousin. She will be going to college in the fall. Thanks to our love of picture taking, I've been able to watch her blossom into a lovely young woman who would have made her great grandparents extremely proud they had the chance to meet her. Here's to you, dear Sara... enjoy this next chapter of your life!
Project Details
With her love of being outdoors whether it's perfecting her archery skills, playing softball, helping her dad in the garden or tending to her goats, the Daisy Garden seemed to be the perfect backdrop for her special card. The background stamp was inked in Calypso Coral (representing my cousin's hair color) and stamped onto a piece of Shimmery White cardstock. The image was brought to life by blending Calypso Coral ink over the blooms with a blending brush. The Hyrangea Haven sentiment was inked in Calaypso Coral and stamped onto the Tasteful Labeles Shimmery White bnaner die cut.
The Beautiful Moments image was inked in Smokey Slate (representing a charcoal pencil), stamped onto Shimmery White cardstock and die cut with a Tasteful Labels Die. Stampin' Blends were used to color the image (Light Pale Papaya, Light Calypso Coral, Ivory - hair; Light Petal Pink, Ivory - skin tone; Dark Soft Sea Foam - dress, grass; Light Fresh Freesia - blooms; Light Pool Party - shading).
The ink blended background was adhered to the 4-1/4" square Soft Succulent card base. The die cut panels were adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. The final touch of line thread wrapped around the card front twice and tied off with a bow.
Peaceful Moments sentiments were perfect for congratulating her on her graduation day! The sentiments were inked in Calypso Coral and stamped on the Shimmery White card layer. And before cleaning the stamps, the images were also stamped on the front of the envelope and the envelope flap.
