Today's Project
Always needing a birthday card, I really wanted to play with this cute little penguin with a balloon that is in the Count on Me stamp set. He is such a cute little guy! And I made a reverse image of him, too!
Project Details
The Night of Navy standard vertical top folding card base was scored at 4-1/4" and 8-1/2"... with the smaller end folded inwards.
The cute penguin was eyeballed on my Stamparatus and stamped on the grid paper. Then I placed the Silicone Mat in the corner and lined up where I wanted the little fella. The penguin was inked in Memento and stamped on the silicone mat. Carefully align the 3-1/4" Basic White square cardstock over the stamped image on the silicone mat and stamp the image on the cardstock. Flip the cardstock over and viola, his reverse image is there! Remove the silicone mat and line up the cardstock for the original image, reink the stamp with Memento, and stamp the second image. Now you should have your two waddling penguins! TIP: When stamping the reverse image, using the Stamparatus to press the stamp on the cardstock gives you a cleaner image than rubbing your hand or finger over the cardstock which can smear the image. This also gives you the image to be able to die cut a reverse image with the stamp's coordinating dies... when stamped and die cut you will be able to flip flop the die cut and use whichever side you wish!
The Biggest Wishes sentiments were stamped between the penguins with So Saffron and Memento inks. The penguins were colored with Light Basic Black and Dark Pale Papaya Blends. The balloons were colored with Light Daffodil Delight Blends and accented with dots created with So Saffron ink and the Fine Tip Water Painter. The stamped layer was adhered to a 3-1/8" x 3-1/2" So Saffron cardstock layer.
Now for the inside! Remember the smaller section that was followed inwards? Well, it was trimmed off a bit (1/2") after the inside was stamped... to show off the little penguin. The 1-1/4" x 3-3/4" Basic White Strip was added along the bottom with another cutie and the sentiment. The So Saffron layer is 1-1/8" x 3-7/8".
And we always have to decorate the envelope... so the birthday wishes were stamped on the envelope front and flap to let the recipient know when to open it.
