Happy Wednesday! Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I am hopping with some Crafty Collaborators along the Crafty Challenge Blog Hop and the challenge this month is the 2021-2023 In Colors! We can use them alone, together or with any of the core colors. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
I needed a birthday card to add to my summer birthday cards so I enjoyed creating today's project with four of my favorite 2021-2023 In Colors! Using the amazing Hand-Penned Petals bundle called for the colors to be used with Smoky Slate to represent a pencil being used to sketch the images.
Project Details
The Hand-Penned Petals Bundle was used to create this cheerful birthday card on a standard vertical top-folding Fresh Freesia card base. The blooms were inked with Gray Granite and randomly stamped along the two edges of the 4" x 5-1/4" Basic White layer. A single bloom image was stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock and colored with Stampin' Blends Markers. The image has coordinating fill stamp images but I chose to enjoy coloring them. The petals were colored with Fresh Freesia and Pale Papaya Blends Combo Markers while the leaves and stems were colored with Dark Soft Succulent and Light Evening Evergreen Blends Markers. After coloring, the image was die cut with the Penned Flowers coordinating die.
The Best Year sentiment was stamped in Fresh Freesia ink and die cut with the Meadow Dies label. The white twine from the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack was doubled up and wrapped around the Scalloped Contours Die layer which had been been splattered with the Light Fresh Freesia Blends Marker by flicking the tip of the broad end tip in the lid. The bloom die cut was tucked behind the sentiment layer and adhered with Dimensionals under the center blooms. The sentiment panel was also elevated in the center with one center dimensional. The Petal Pink Elegant Faceted Gems were colored with the Dark Fresh Freesia Blends Marker for a custom embellishment (almost resembles Polished Pink, don't you think?!?).
The layers were replicated for the inside as no card is complete unless the inside compliments the card front! The splatters and the bloom image were stamped and colored to complete the inside leaving plenty of room to correspond to the recipient. The envelope front and flap were also stamped and colored for a sneak peek to the recipient of what's inside.
